Can God use me?

Be Kind to Others —

What are your talents?
We all have talents and abilities. A key to usefulness is making our talents available to God. Your talents may be in building friendships, engaging in conversations, answering questions, inspiring people, or telling stories. God certainly can use those.

One of the best ways to show kindness is through acts of service.  We have a misconception that being a leader means you have to be in front of large crowds and do spectacular things.  But that’s not true, there are other ways to serve the Lord.  Kindness shows itself in the little you do.  “If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward” (Matthew 10:42Matthew 10:42

Be a cold water server.  Imagine being back in Jesus time on a hot, hot dusty day.  How hard it must have been to find cold water.   Today it is easy to get cold water. You just have to go to the refrigerator.  But back then it had to come from a deep well and be served immediately.

We can bring that kind of spiritual and emotional refreshment today to others.  OK, how do I do that?

  • By sitting with someone who is alone,
  • By listening to those who are hurting,
  • By writing an encouraging note,
  • By helping someone with work that needs to be done,
  • By praying with a person in need,
  • By reaching out to those who are younger than you.

If you are willing to give God what you have – Yourself.   And then God could use that however he wanted.  God could use any man who was willing to be used.  I determined to do what I could with my life in service to God.  ” There are poeple who serve as missionaries in Africa, Brazil, Europe, Asia, the Unites States and Canada.  They serve in those places because they asked, “How can God use me?”  I have friends who are school teachers, nurses, doctors, mechanics.   They faithfully serve God in ways he makes available to them.  The question they ask is, “How can God use me?  ” The answer to that question may be different for us individually.

God has call us to serve Him, but not for a weekend, a week, a month, or even six months.  He has called us to serve Him for a lifetime.  That doesn’t happen by sitting around watching TV, reading comic books, eating ice cream, and hanging around doing nothing, GET INVOLVED.   There’s a world waiting with great needs.

Serve the Lord in what ever He intrusted you. “Whoever can be trusted with very  little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is deshonest with very little will also be dishonest with much”  ( Luke 16:10Luke 16:10
